Sports bike

It depends what you're comfortable riding on. but i personally commute on sports bikes all year round without any problems. I use a nearly new Honda CBR600RR & 10 year old ZX9-R & they're both fantastic bikes. I don't think the year of reg really matters too much as long as you look to buy what you can afford and look for a bike that's been well looked after. It might be worth considering a CBR600F, they're a fantastic road bike, though not quite as 'sporty'. It just depends what YOU want.

i would prefer a sports bike to anything else definately

handling, braking  and performance advantages, and perfecty comfortable generally, fairings guide warm air up on some which is novel this time of year.
