VTR firestorm smoking exhaust

Hi, I've just started up my VTR after its been sitting around in the cold for a fair few fews and it started first time! (the good bit) However, when i stopped the engine, there was  white smoke out of the right hand exhaust which carried on rising out for a few mins after stopping?!

I've never noticed this before but i also usually dont start it cold in a wind free place such as the garage..?

Should I be worried at all or is this normal after a winter? (condensation etc..?)

Help appreciated! Thanks!

Sounds like...

...a perfectly normal engine, and more than likely just condensation. You should see the smoke from a freshly prepared bike straight from the crate. lol

If it is a problem,it would be a leaking head gasket allowing coolant into the combustion side. However,it would also smell obvious, and over a short period of time the oil would become very creamy.

White smoke

is condensation.

Water has collected somewhere and is just burning off as the engine heats up, much like a kettle boiling water.

The time to worry is when you get black or blue smoke that doesn't go away.
