Bike damaged by third party

My bike was on its side stand on a road near my local shops and elderly driver decided to park about a foot away from my bike opened her door and knocked my bike over so the right had side faring is wrecked my rear brakes not as good as it was and ive got a dent in my fuel tank... ive been given a loan bike by my insurance company. the third party insurance company is fighting liability. I just wonder if anyone else has been through this and what the outcome was?? thanks nick

damage

As i`ve said a few times on here (been there done it),the first thing you do after an accident if possible is find an independant witness, the third party in`s will say "your word against theres" .On one occasion when this happened to me i went direct to the other driver and told him his in`s will not pay out and i got a cheque of him for the damage.Another occasion the same thing but the lady was old but she admitted fault to her in`s,so i pressed my in`s to get that statement from them, they did and i was paid out.Don`t forget your in`s will be glad of 50/50 bullshit because they don`t give a toss.

dont let

you insurance company convince you to go 50/50 if you know it was 100% liability of the defendant , in's love easy cases because it saves on paperwork and solicitors.
