Wootton Bassett, Sunday 14th March: MCN wants your photos

Are you attending the ride-out for Afghan Heroes this Sunday in Wootton Bassett? If so, MCN needs your help. We want photos of all the day’s action: the bikes, the supporters and the ride-out. So get your cameras out because we will be printing a selection of the best photos from the day. Send your pictures to us at mcn.news@motorcyclenews.com by 9am,...

Why not the whole issue?

buckr - So melodramatic. MCN has to print articles that will interest its readers. A few pics with an MCN slant on the story should do the job, particularly given that the mainstream media (especially the BBC) have given the event loads of coverage. It was a great event but by the time MCN comes out it will be old news so there's no point filling the whole issue with pics. As for your idea about MCN donating money for pics. Come on, get a grip. They are a specialist publication not the New York Times.

If being patriotic is melodramatic then so be it.

If you don't think this event supporting out troops is not worth mentioning then that is your perogative.

The event is to raise raise money and awareness of, (to what obviously is important to a large number of the biker fraternity) the plight of some sections of our armed forces.

Keeping the event in the forefront of the news is important. If you feel it will all be old news by Wednesday, again your perogative.

I would think that purely by the large number of bikes/bikers attending the event it is at least as important as the fastest litre sportsbike (again and again and again !!)

This you understand is only my opinion which I am allowed to have and even to talk about in this country. Good here init !!

I really hope you do not have any close friends or relatives serving.

thanks for the welcome

I was on the ride through parts of Wiltshire to Wootton Bassett, but dont forget the welcome we had in the other towns and villages, they were outside their homes with banners and flag.

Thanks for the welcome Wiltshire, there are other bikers events in the pipline hope the welcome is as good.

For the tiny few who have to knock somthing they didnt get involved in, why dont you support our armed forces?

Bulldog,

I wrote a none abusive piece saying how well we were received and mentioning the diversity of our biking community that goes beyond the hairy biker stereotype and simply made comment that they maybe shouldve got themselves there but put in another way and it was removed, so much for freedom of speech, not one single profanity just if we don't like what you say we will remove it.

Comments removed

You are correct that some comments have been removed from this and other threads on the MCN site because they have been deemed to be inappropriate by us. We will continue to police our website and take off those comments we feel are not acceptable.

There are lots of reasons comments are taken off...abuse, insults, attacking MCN unnecessarily and general nastiness. The constant back biting and overridingly negative attitude of a minority of people on here not only brings down the atmosphere of the site but it puts off many newcomers who do not want to get involved. We want this site to be open to all and remain free because that's what has made it the world's biggest motorcycle website but we will police it as we feel appropriate.

Please feel free to drop me a line if you want to discuss this. My direct line is 01733-468011 or you can email me on andy.downes@motorcyclenews.com

Not even Andy Downes comments can escape the Moderator!

It is a disapointing that you cant expess an opinion about non motorcycle journalists on a motorcycling web site with out having your comments removed, isults abuse attacking MCN unneccesarily  no I didnt., I have been reading this since about 1978?

Mr Downes your comments are inapropriate!!!!
