vtr firestorm

hi there

i need a bit of help. i have a 1997 vtr firestorm which i bought last september 2009. had no problems with the bike and at rode mint.

its been under wraps over xmas garaged and started weekly.

i took it out last sunday for a spin and it started to misfire at 5000rpm and it wouldnt clear (did my head in). the only thing i have changed whilst under wraps is the clocks for mph, as the bike is an import and had kmh clocks. there was a yellow wire connected on the kmh clocks that has nowhere to connect on the new clocks.

i am going to change the clcoks back to see if it cures this problem but not sure it will.

has anyone come accross this before. cant understand why this has suddenly happened.

any suggestions

If you have been working near any block connectors near the ignition switch/circuit check them after disconnecting the battery.I cannot help you with the yellow wire.
