I have a GSXR 1000 K9.  Will dropping the yoke 10mm down the forks make much difference to my riding or handling ?  I have bst wheels fitted, the difference is out standing.

Going 10mm is a big jump. Dropping the front end as you describe will make the bike steeer quicker, but could also make it unstable in a straight line. You are much better lowering it in smaller increments, say 2mm. To measure that difference accurately you really need a vernier caliper between the top of the fork leg and the yoke. Ohlins forks and some mainstream Japanese bikes like the Yamaha R6 have lines machined into the tubes which make this task a lot easier.
