Walker back in BSB with a GSX-R1000

Chris Walker will be racing a privately-run Suzuki GSX-R1000 at Brands Hatch on Easter Bank Holiday Monday in the first round of the British Superbike championship. Walker’s last-minute ride is thanks top tuner Ray Stringer who has prepared the ex-Rutter GSX-R1000 TT. Walker said: “I’m delighted to be on the grid again this year. Ray came along with the offer of...

Good for BSB

Chris Walker is good for BSB, it would have been nice to see him return on a very good bike when he first came back, but much like many racers careers the package rarely comes together at the right time, rider on form, equipment sponsors etc.

I hope this bike is confidence inspiring in handling, if it is he will put a privateers bike as high up the field as anyone else can, plus if those damn electronics arent working properly this year on Rob Mac's bikes then Neil Hodgson may find himself battling once again with Chris Walker, but down the field this time.

Great to see Chris in the field, I too hope he does well, is he in the privateers cup? that said, I would like to see Rob Mac do well this year, he is so close to putting it all together and he deserves some success as a team manager in BSB - great bloke as well.

Stalker....

Wish him the best of luck as he is still one of me fav bike racers, but i dont think he will ever find the form of 2000!! That was a fantastic year of bsb and i was gutted he never won it! I hope he goes well but i feel his best days are behind him now which is a shame because he is still one of the most exciting riders to watch, think the shitty british weather will be his best alley this season, against some of those bigger teams.

Nice

Really glad to see him back, motorsport is all the poorer without him. Nice also to see his privateer bike out qualifying Hodgson ;-)

I think it is great that he has something lined up at Norton when he finally does hang up his leathers but would rather see him commentating, I couldn't think of a better person for it

Out of respect for the fans wanting to see the rivalry of 2000 rekindled, Chris has agreed to slow down and wait for Hodgson to catch up so that they can play together, suggestions that this is due to Neil's mum having a word with Chris's mum about Chris being mean and running away all the time are unfounded.

Further suggestions that Hodgson is all mouth and thought he was coming back for an easy ride are reputedly wrong, in a statement given from the beauty parlour close to the circuit where Neil was enjoying a manicure during the third superpole session he says that as soon as he works out which end of the bike is the front they should be a lot quicker.

Hodgson has an outside chance of a podium, the Rob Mac team are working on the fact that Josh"The Nailbomber" Brookes will get a bad start and subsequently take out half the field in a perfectly legit outbraking manouvre before the fifth lap. Although Josh says this won't happen, the organisers have suggested all front runners invest in good medical insurance.

Great start Chris, bearing in mind the lack of testing, heres hoping you have a good season.
