Criky...

How many Chinese people can afford to buy a Ducati? Clearly they have less competition than in the low end bikes but still..

Can they afford them?

Well, I think you'll find that the people who shop at the Porsche, Jag, Aston, Merc and Beemer showrooms and all those people tooling around in shiny new Audis and Lexuses could probably stretch to a Duc. When I've been in Shanghai I've noticed that most of the knock off goods are bought by tourists. The locals like their genine D&G. There's a lot of money in China.

max 150cc in Shangai

Strange but true the max engine size in Shangia is 150cc all the kids have Tiawan produced copies of TZR 125's that are bored out to 150cc. although they are not called yamaha's but if you look you can see its a yamaha TZR125. All bigger bikes are banned, so the only way to ride a bigger bike is at night watching out for the cops, if they catch you your bike gets taken. !!! No wonder MotoGP failed in China

Chinati's?

Brace yourselves, for the onslaught of 1089's, Moonsters and Multisladers - all under £2000. Complete with 12 month,12 mile,12 minute, whichever comes first warranties. What puzzles me though is how come Chinese takeaways still charge more for your dinner than fish & chip shops?
