KTM RC4 - it lives!

Rumours of a rebirth of the serious small-capacity sportsbike led by KTM have circulated for ages, and we’re glad to see they’re well founded. Sort of. Sadly it’s not the longed-for official RC4 they have actually been evaluating, but a home-brewed supermono created in idle hours by KTM R&D engineers. 80bhp/140kg. Now all we need is the marketing department to get behind...

Ohhhhhhh Yes!

I love my Duke 690, but this is perfection.  Surely KTM aren't going to sell an esoteric piece like the Duke 690R to very many punters.  There's no reason that this super mono couldn't be produced in equally limited numbers.  It might be two seconds slower on a proper closed course but it would be untouchable in the real world of mountain roads.  The service interval on the LC4 engine has been increased this year, so there is no trouble with reliability.  It's a product waiting for a select few.

Wow!

I'd seriously consider an RC4 if they made one. The version in the picture above looks outstanding!
