A mid range single..........

I'd say a mid range single cylinder machine such as the BMW F650 (older), KTM 640 / 690 Adventure, Aprillia Pegason etc.

What do you currently ride?

Ride safe,

Shad.

Bike for city riding

If its only ever for city riding and the city in question is heavily congested then suprisingly enough the best bike would probably be a scooter or small(ish) capacity naked. If you'll use the bike on open stretches aswell then the smallish capacity naked is probably best (so long as it has a small steering circle and can be easily manouvered at low speed.

If you factor in other criteria than low cost of ownership, ease of manouvering in congested traffic and ease of parking you might have a different short list.
