Honda ST1100 Pan European (1989-2004)

For anyone looking for a long-distance tool the Honda ST1100 Pan European is probably one of the safest bets around. The only problem is availability – owners rate them so highly that low-mileage machines are rarer than hen’s teeth. Not that mileage matters as the motor and construction quality is thermospherically high.

pan european

the pan european granted is a good bike im a long distance courier and it is by far the best bike for the job.

When its  working that is , i think i must have bought a bad one firstly the big end goes, new engine

then the exhaust rots , then the teeth go on the final drive which i made sure was well greased leaving me stranded on the a1 and then relay goes shorting the electrics i wont go on but i have had a lot of bikes and the pan has been the one i have loved to hate, not sure if anyone else has had this problem with the final drive i think there is just to much talk and it just rips the spline apart. Its only done 110000 my last bike was a dullville she went for 170000 , whilst writing this i sit here waitng for a new final drive to arrive grrrrrrrr p.s it was an x police bike and i think they thrash the hell out of them so my advice would be stay away from the x copper ones take it easy
