If Rossi leaves will Fiat remain Yamaha's sponsor, they probably want an Italian rider like Repsol wants a Spanish rider. Also Ferrari wants Rossi so it would make sense for Fiat to maybe go with him.

I may be wrong, but wasn't it the pairing of Doohan/Burgess that took the NSR500 from being an almost unrideable beast to a championship dominating machine that anyone could ride? When Doohan left the scene JB  then partnered with VR and has produced two MotoGP bikes (RCV&/ M1) and done much the same thing. So I see no reason why they can't do it again with the Ducati, which isn't exactly a dog to start with. As for Rossis' age, did anyone see the last WSB race? Biaggi 39 Corser 39 and Checca 38. I think Valle has a couple of good years in him yet. it seems we all agree that MotoGP needs a shake up, lets hope this is just what the doctor ordered!
