Video: Fireblade is a work of art

The latest art-inspired window display at Selfridges in London features two Honda Fireblades - one complete, the other dismantled and looking like the world's best Meccano set.   The two blades are set up to balance at either end of a set of scales. The artist - Kyle Bean - wanted to use something minimalistic but with presence, completely out of context,...

Stunning

I dont consider myself an arty farty type but this really was amazing to see as biker and fireblade owner.

I didnt even know about it untill I walked past last Monday and was completley mesmerised!

Worth a look!

Before n After

Is that what a Blade looks like before and after doddering Doris has pulled out on you? Reminds me of a 'Think Bike' add.

Lame

The bike isn't being balanced by anything...The frame holding it is not a scale, it's rigid.  You can tell because it is still holding the whole fireblade during the construction of the "art" piece.  This kyle bean seems like a joke...

Give him some artistic licence!

It's not science, it's art. It would never balance anyway, since all of the fluids will have been removed from the de-constructed bike. Even if you drain the engine, there'll stil be some oil left in the 'complete' bike. I think its a nice ILLUSTRATION of science, certainly better than alot of modern art.

Simply stunning

I agree with ColonelHornet.

This is an amazing visual representation of a scientific fact 'Matter can not be created or destroyed only transformed'.

What a genius this guy is to dream up using a fireblade to demonstrate this - certainly makes you think!
