Private Plate Question

Hello folks.

I'm selling a bike, but I want to keep my private plate from it. What do I need to tell potenial buyers about re-registering the bike so they are not put off the buying process by red-tape?

I know how to retain my plate (see this link), so just need above question answered. Your advice is much appreciated as per...

Cheers!

I have a private plate

and under no circumstances would I ever ever ever sell the bike with the plate on.  I go to my local DVLA office and return the bike to its original number.  The PP is put on retention for when I gat the new bike.

Two trips to DVLA office is a fag but I am aware of at least two people who have sold bikes with the PP still on it and the new owners are still riding around with them running up fines and camera offences.

Will do...

Good use of worse case scenario, and advice much appreciated. Still got the old plate, so just need to complete the DVLA forms.

Thanks again!
