Usually have a re-set hole/button.
You then have to go through a process of 'hold button 1 for 10 seconds, while standing on 1 leg pointing 10 degrees from north, then press button 2 while pressing starter and left indicator at the same time' type of process!

i have the series 3 on my fjr.i had to replace my fob so i got online to datatool and found the suppliers in my area.went along and ordered one, cost £30.then accessed datatool site for the instructions for syncing it with the bike alarm, the instructions i downloaded also showed me how to apply a pin that can be accessed by switching the ignition key on and off a number of times, this for when the fob stops working, like when in europe on holiday, hope this was usefull.
