Very interesting what is now coming out in the wash.
Even works bikes are not evenly matched in many cases.
Sykes will be supported by Byrdie, he may have inferior gear, this is why he was not happy on TV. Terrible for him, a bike all painted up the same but possibly not the same machine, he could look really poor in everyone's eyes.
It seems that the riders apart from one or two exceptions, Rea and Haslam spring to mind are in their seats due to the rider sponsorship and team sponsorship they bring with them.
This shows that no matter how closely we look at riders we can never be sure who is really the best, even when they appear to be on the same bikes, it is not an even playing field at all.
Recession has just brought this info to our attention as there are more riders then there are seats.
Feel sorry for Guintoli, one crash in BSB and his career looks wobbly to say the least, when in BSB he looked the class of the field and could have carried this on to WSBK, instead he was still recovering early his year then has improved all year.
