BBC1 9PM TONIGHT

The traffic cops unveil a secret weapon in their fight against dangerous bikers intent on riding their luck on Sussex's open roads - an undercover motorbike equipped with video cameras and ridden by the police's own 'Stig'.

Yeah right

Police muppets ...

Complaining about the Ace Cafe bikers clogging up the road .... then they close the whole road off to catch a few bikers doing some wheelies...Doh! .... they devote an unmarked bike, two marked bikes, a police van & tow truck to the incident ...an incident were no-one was hurt ...no-one lost any property and affected nobody. Stop wasting our tax money and go find some real criminals, for fuck sake!:mad:   ..... and if you want to talk about 'dangerous riding'- that unmarked police bike was doing dangerous overtakes on other unsuspecting bikers in his haste to capture the wheelie boy's number plate on film - fucking hypocrites! .

'Catching the Romanian bikers' - Can someone explain why it's dangerous for them to ride over 100 miles and hour and weave between the traffic .. but apparently it's 'safe' for the 'police stig' (on an unmarked bike with no lights or siren)  to do exactly the same thing following them !? - What is the difference !?

programme last night

Morning, well, having arrived at wotrk early so i can leave at 3-30pm am just having my coffee break, well, nescafe caramel actually..mmm, anyway..lol..

cmon, if you were a copper, youd have to pull them loonies in, powersliding on a public road?..its loss of control in the highway code, pulling wheelies past cars with families?...not the best advert for us is it really?

i know those were the minority but during the peak season, there are some right loonies that treat our local roads as racetracks especially after BSB at Cadwell, what I saw, was unbelievable..so , they deserve everything they get..my zzr aint that powerful when compared to sports bikes now, but i treat her with resepct and have a fmaily to come home to after a ride.

Im 38, all classes of licence held on, wait for it, a clean licence..lol..how did that hapen?..cos i dont ride/drive like a tit..as my licence classes cost an awful lot of dosh to get so I ride/drive, im not syaing like an angel, but with caution and to the road conditions..but glad the arrogant twat of a cyclist got the book thrown at him, if it were me, id have nicked him.

Sorry.. but I didn't see any of them 'lose control' - in fact they demonstrated that they have more control in handling a bike than probably the 'police stig' is capable of. :winkie:

Yes, of course the police are going to pull them .... but a warning or a fixed penalty should be enough surely .... confiscating all their bikes and arresting them! OTT!  FFS!

power sliding..etc..

yep, agreed they could have been cautioned or (if it were me) had a stiff talking too, I'd be reasonable not a twat like some of em are, or indeed our local plods (to be fair are decent chaps and a few do bike safe courses so know them well.   At the end of the day, they were being filmed..so their hands are tied as well as motorists would have argued thwey cant drift around roundabouts so why should bikers be allowed to behave like that?  Fair point?..

Yes, fair point. ..:winkie:.

Like I said - I don't blame the police for stopping them ...but they went ridiculously OTT.... Confiscating their bikes and arresting them on the spot - carting the whole group off in a van ..... anyone would have thought they had stolen the bikes or been rapists etc. ..not just guilty of pulling a wheelie! ..

Don't get me wrong - I am not anti-police as a whole.  We have met, and ridden with, some great police officers ...some have been on Sunday rideouts with us (on their own bikes) .... but this lot just came across as twats ... I mean, - making the polish lad sit at the side of the road and go no further when even the officer could see his number plate had genuinely fallen off! - That's just being an unreasonable c*nt..... thank God the cops up here are (generally) better. :winkie:

You can watch it anytime on i-player here -

Thanks for the link, I was in work early this morning and watched all the bike related footage - plus the cyclist at the end, he was good entertainment!

I think it would have been a laugh to see your reactions when you watched the programme

As usual with these documentaries, the narrator was a twat who portrayed bikers as psychopathic outlaws  The chief of Sussex traffic cops wasn't any better, I bet he's not a biker...
