Meta M357 Alarm

I've had a Meta M357 alarm fitted to my Blackbird for over 8 years without any problems.....................until now!

It 'activates' for no reason and sounds like a strangled budgie. The indicators all come on permanently and flattens the battery. I've replaced the bike battery. It was old and needed replacing anyway. But it changed nothing. Strangely it responds to the plipper................eventually!

Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's no joke having to disconnect the battery every time I stop. I suspect the alarm battery is the problem. But how do I remove this thing from the bike. Or alternatively how do I bypass it so it doesn't imobilise the ignition and starter.
