Winter riding tyre Swap

I ride throughout the year on a VFR but its obviously not suitable for snow etc. I have an old CB400 that I would like to use more and I was wondering if I could fit enduro type tyres to it for use if the snow comes. I have seen pirelli MT90 scorpion AT 90/90 R19 TT front and the same make 110/80 18 for the rear. Firstly, would they be legal and pass the MOT and secondly does it make a real difference having a 80 profile on the rear instead of 90. They dont seem to have a 90 available. Any other suggestions or thoughts? thanks
