Cal Crutchlow happy with early progress

Cal Crutchlow declared himself happy at the conclusion to his first big MotoGP examination as he beat Valentino Rossi, Loris Capirossi and Toni Elias to finish the second day of testing at Valencia with the 13th fastest time. Shrugging off a small crash yesterday afternoon, the Coventry rider took full advantage of sunny but breezy conditions to get in more crucial...

Hold up...

Cal was ahead of VR in the test, obviously he is better than the goat and will become Britains next Talent.

..or maybe test times dont mean to much right now, were already getting withdrawal symptoms from MotoGP and its gonna be a long winter.

Chris, you are missing something...

Of course Cal whooped Rossi..... Apparently VR is a washed up has been as he didnt win last year and is down in 15th in his first test on completely different machinery.... You know, the same way he was washed up and past it in 2006 and 2007....

Too right! At this rate it is going to be a terribly terribly long winter! Cal is going to be great entertainment next year, at least I hope so, and it would be amazing to see him do some mid field damage like Spies did this year. Fingers crossed.............

Yep, i do think he will provide some great entertainment next year, but Minty - hope he doesn`t rough anybody up too much, never heard so much bleating and crying in MotoGP as James Toseland caused in his first few races!! Although RdP has had some flack for mixing it a bit!

The motogp curse!

Lets hope Crutchlow isn't affected with the same MotoGP curse as those Brits before him,  If he can pull it off then he'll have achieved something pretty special. A British rider whose truly able to "gel" with a MotoGP bike. It  looks promising but we've been here before haven't we? I'll reserve judgement until mid season as isn't it about that time that it usually starts to go horribly wrong for a Brit in MotoGP?  Still. Cal might be the one who breaks the mould. lets hope his Mojo is a good one.
