Triumph Tiger 800 XC (2010-current)

The new 800 XC is very much the bigger, burlier brother of Triumph’s two new Tigers. From the moment you swing your leg on board it’s clearly a taller, seemingly more substantial machine. The combination of 21-inch wire front wheel (in place of the 800’s cast 19incher), longer travel (by 40mm) 45mm forks (the 800’s are 43mm) and slightly wider (by...

XC look a good un

The XC will be deliverd mid feb. i have ordererd my XC (£300 refundable deposit on a test ride mid December)you get the basic bike and the sadly extras soon add up centre stand high screen sump guard heated grips etc soon take it to over £9k or £10k if you have them all. The comment about the panniers is a fair point as i had a look at them and canceled my order for triunphs own panniers as they are of a very poor quality and for £500 just simply not good enough,i will have a look at Hepco or Givi's new enduro panniers, tourtechs Zega Pro at £1000 for 2 45ltr side boxs with fittings is a bit too much.
but i am looking forward to getting my Tiger

I have had a look at the street version (too much ice on the roads up here in the north for mc riding) and can only find one point for critisism, but a serious one: has nobody realized yet, that the suspension system is totally exposed? All dirt thrown up from the back wheel will land on the damper and the links! And worse: a part of the levers sticks out below the bike, even when the optional aluminium plate is installed! OK, not many users will take the Tiger offroad, but I am doing about 30-50% of my riding here in Sweden on unpaved roads, so I wonder how long the suspension system will withstand the constant spray of sand and dirt! And one big stone in front of the back wheel might acutally knock it out completely! This is supposed to be an adventure bike, according to the marketing, so it should be able to take some beating!

I am really surprised that not one test mentions this serious design flaw!
