Video: Kawasaki W800 - retro commuter

Kawasaki have created this video to promote their new W800 - it seems to suggest that they're pitching the bike at trendy London types who want a retro-cool commuter for the city.  With an authentic-looking air-cooled 773cc parallel twin motor, twin rear shocks and pea-shooter exhausts, the W800 certainly looks the part - but so does the competition, namely the Triumph Bonneville and Moto Guzzi V7 Classic.  ...

W800.......Great!!!

I liked the look of the old W650,Kawasaki brought out a few years back,so, i automatically like this.

Don't know how it'll fair against the triumph or Moto Guzzi but should be in with a shout!!!

Looks real retro and i like the bevel gear driven cams.Nice touch Kawasaki!!!

Pity price couldn't be kept below £6000,say £5,899?

Nice looking bike, but very overpriced.

Doubt the price will stay at £6500 for long.

Not when you can get a V7 for £5500

Why do you prefer a Kawasaki Bonneville to the TRIUMPH?....never understood this, surely it's the TRIUMPH BONNEVILLE with the history and anything else is a fake

The Triumph Bonneville made in Thailand?

Yep, that's real British heritage.

Although saying that, the Bonnie would be my choice.

Unless Honda ever get around to importing their rather lovely CB1100

Retro..

I appreciate any manufacturer who brings a bike like this to market.    After all, Kawasaki actually did produce an earlier version of this bike years ago.  No, its not a Triumph, but it is unique.

Do they all come with German number plates or do the smart set in London all import them as personal imports?

Why do people buy this tacky rubbish from the far east any more? when Triumph make the real thing and cheaper.
