Yep.

Polish the hell out of them. Ideally you're going to need a polishing kit fitted into a drill and a Dremel or similar to get into the tight corners.

LOTS of graft and sweat involved.

All this is assuming you mean 'heat' tarnishing and not something actually melted to the exhaust.

Thanks yeh it is heat tarnish. A ny ideas what polish to use. Someone suggested autosol?

By all means,then finish it off with t-cut.
