Jennie Gow out of 2011 BBC MotoGP team

BBC MotoGP presenter Jennie Gow has just announced she will not be covering the racing series this year after just one season with the BBC MotoGP team. Gow was announced as the replacement for fans’ favourite Suzi Perry at the start of the 2010 season but despite her best efforts to fill the huge hole left by Perry her lack of...

The over paid Ms. Gow will no doubt land another cushy number to hoist her up the salary ladder.

She was brought in for one reason only and that was to fulfill female presenter quotas.

At this very moment they're probably looking for a gay, Asian to front MOTOGP.

Typical loony left, PC obsessed, BBC.

You don't like looking at pretty girls?

The general feeling seems to be that Jenny was there to add sex appeal.  And that's a problem because ...

All the real ale drinking, pipe smoking, bearded weirdos are well catered for on Eurosport, where you can almost smell the grease.  For the the rest of us, variety is the spice of life.

Whilst I'm not devastated to hear this news, I do feel a female presenter gets a different attitude from the riders and that means we get to see more of their personality.

If it really is all about the racing, why are you watching MotoGP anyway.  Granted, Moto2 provided some of the most amazing battles for many years but the premier class is only ever worth watching to the first corner.  Then it's a question of how long you can keep your eyes open.

Damn shame for Jennie.

Personally I thought She was dioing a pretty good job.

Obviously she didn't have the indepth knowledge that Suze had, but it was a hard act to follow, and I think she gave it a good shot.

As for the people on here that say they wouldn't watch the BBC etc.... Well some of us do not spend our money on loads of crap sky cable channels, but would rather be on the road with our bikes. Hence we NEED the free coverage that we get from the BBC.

Without it, there would be NO motorbike racing for the masses.

"If it really is all about the racing, why are you watching MotoGP anyway." Well, at a guess, because its exciting, and very interesting to me, and quite alot of others interested in motor sport and the technology behind it. I don't drink real ale, nor do I smoke a pipe, and I am clean shaven. Also, alot of my friends who do not ride bikes love the eurosport team, as they are VERY informative, and truly passionate about the sport they commentate on.

The fact you think she was "doing a good job" goes to show how little you clearly understand about the technology that goes into bike racing in general. But I am glad you enjoy it :)

Sparkly Jennie is gone :-(

I thought Jennie Gow had a real sparkle about her, she did a great job presenting BBCs MotoGP coverage and I would like to wish her every success for the future.

HOORAY!

Good riddance - she was crap. Maybe now they'll get someone who knows something about bike racing, instead of a  'presenter' who was obviously muddling through a specialist field she knew very little about.

Everyone seems to have forgotten how woefully bad Suzi was when she first started in WSB on Sky all those years ago... she was shocking!! But she got better...much better. Doubtless Gow would have too...but we live in a world with no patience now. A case in point is the sacking by Sky of Andy Grey for 'sexism'. Its not so long ago I remember a female sports presenter (yes, that will be Suzi) commenting on how hot some little known Italian rider in 250s was...and this LIVE on air. And one case is sexist...an the other isn't?? The world has started barking at the moon!!! I say let Stephen Hawkin present Moto GP on the BBC.. I reckon he'd introduce unique perspective...and we wouldn't get distracted by the gratuitous tits... Oh sorry, that's sexist isn't it!!!? Unless I was talking about Steve Parrish and Charlie Cox of course... You decide... Let a Tribunal decide... Don't worry guys, the season starts again soon, and we can stop talking about irrelevant shit....:)
