let's not get carried away by this story - a test ride before any competitive racing begins and injury cover for Bautista.  hardly a "shock return" that the headline suggests.  and if Hopper is called over to the MotoGP team as cover, the BSB squad will have to find a replacement, clear and simple.

much ado about nothing now

He's just a test rider at this point. Suzuki has nothing to lose. They are a 1 rider team and if Bautista tosses it up the road and gets hurt they don't want to be caught with their pants down and not have a stand in rider ready.

Could go in his favour IF they go back to 2 bikes in 2012.

Nice one

Glad to hear that Hopper is making a return albeit as just a stand in/test rider. Loved it when he smacked Lorenzo round the head whilst in practice at one of the rounds coz Lorenzo had an on track go at him for getting in the way something. Another character with a bit of a 'badboy' reputation must be a positive amongst a grid with a certain percentage of media friendly goody goodys

Cut the sensationalist crap with the headlines

As stated below it's just a test with a view to using him as back up for Bautista if it all goes well. If Bautista injured himself and Hopkins was available then maybe he could return but it wouldn't be a shock because you've already told us. And of course it would all depend on a: whether Hopkins impresses enough on this test to be an option b: no clash of meetings between BSB and MotoGP c: Hopkins not being injured d: Hopkins not being in a commanding position in the BSB championship e: all the other options I haven't thought of. The end.
