next bike

Hey folks,

I have had a z750 for two years post test and have wracked up 15k miles, and I'm now after an upgrade.

I want something that is cool looking, faster and hopefully more nimble, but also practical for everyday use.

I like the gsxr1000 2009, but am concerned it being too much bike for road use, but I'd worry the gixxer 750 would be a little less torquey, and not too dissimilar to my current z750 in terms of engine power.  Obviously I'm going to try both bikes out, but if you have any opinions it'd be appreciated.  I'm 5'10 and weigh about 15.7 stone, so also I'm wondering whether a sports bike would be uncomfy.

Finally, I don't do much to secure my zed. I park it in a secure underground car park with no locks and it's fine.  Installing a ground anchor in a secure car park is usually out of the question. Do you think a gsxr1000 would be safe in a car park with a disc lock + alarm but otherwise untethered?

I'm also looking at the z1000 2010, which I know would have much better rider ergos, plus a ripping engine.  If the gsxrs are not suitable, then I'll get a z1k.

Cheers,
ibike
