Think somebody covered this

on here recently, don't think you need triangle, maybe not the hi viz although it's good idea, not sure about the rest, best to have all documents, do a search on here to find that thread, wasn't long ago, any info on RAC/AA websites? BMF/MAG sites?

Riding in France

The propbelm with websites is that most of them assume that you will be travelling by car.  (I am sure that French motorcyclists do not carry tiangles!)

Having done a lot of riding in France and Spain, I carry a hi-viz, a spare bulb set (as available from lots of accessory suppliers) a first aid kit (I always do regardless of legislation) and a copy of my registation document and insurace certificate.  I know that some countries are supposed to want originals bit I have never had a problems with copies.

Don't forget to tell your insurer that you are going.  Break-down insurance is also recommended.

Hope this helps.

Hi there from france. Legally for a motorcycle you do not need the triangle or high viz vest, but they are not a bad idea to carry. However make sure that you have all your documents for the bike with you, the logbook (V5), tax, mot, insurance and your license. The french gendarmes are normally a decent bunch of chaps, and having all of these handy makes their life easier should they stop you...which will make your life easier too. Also put a set of spare bulbs in your tank bag or somewhere handy. Personally I put all my docs in a zip loc bag.....I have seen too many people that have been soaked to the bone and their papers a mushy mess. Good luck and enjoy....france is one of the best countries for motorcycling anywhere!!

Touring france

:smileHi we tour france every year, we take all our documents for the bike and keep them in the tank bag along with passport. also take spair bulbs & high vis jacket.

Last year we stayed at a Biker frendly B&B run by an english couple www.lamottebandb.fr . excelent place to stay.

here is a website with advise on what you need for touring http://www.maxmoto.co.uk/motorcycle_touring.shtml

Roads are good and the french drivers generally let you pass.

Have a good trip
