Census asks about cars and vans but not bikes

The 2011 Census has been slammed for ignoring motorcycles. One question asks households how many cars or vans they have but makes no mention of bikes. It says: ‘In total, how many cars or vans are owned, or available for use, by members of this household?’ A Census spokesman said: “After thorough consultation with users, namely the Department for Transport, including motorcycles...

I recently accessed a clubs website and it stated that if one in four bikers put down "biker" as their religion on the Census we would be legally recognised as a minority and our rights would have to be recognised and provision would have to be made to include us.

Can anyone else confirm this?

If it's true then let's get on the case and spread the word 'cos let's face it bikes have been overlooked for too long.........

Minority recognition

Despite this sudden wave of idealism, there is no legal deinition; just ask the Jedis, or the genuine Pagans who have filled out previous cesuses - it makes bollock all difference to your treatment.

Since it is a basis for the Expansion or for traffic and parking congestion as a van and car maintenance for roads and parking areas, I think that is ok that bikes are not considered. As we can all see, Bikes are not affected by traffic because they can pass through tight spaces. Same scenario with the parking. They only need a little space compared to cars and vans. It doesn't mean that there is discrimination among riders and drivers. For example, If they know that a parking space for a car can be occupied by 2 or 3 bikes, do you think they need to measure the space that a bike need for parking??
