Casey Stoner not writing Rossi off yet

Casey is spot on.

It is stupid to write him off after one round even when Rossi is not 100% he is still a tough nut to crack as seen last Sunday.

Stoner learnt a lot in Laguna 2008 I now think he has more than enough in his tool box to handle Vale

hard to tell

who posts the more annoying comments, hugelean, wosideg or that abnlin guy. Pretty obvious that abnlin's are more insightful and better thought out.

whoa!! settle down son, where did that come from. all I read was one rider giving an honest opinion on another one, and although its difficult to detect sarcasm in text, it seemed pretty positive towards your boy Vale, suggesting he's got much more pace in him, which is no doubt true.

@wosideg, while it may seem far too early to suggest it has sunk in, we did see a little bit more race craft from Stoner at Qatar, a willingness to follow a rider (in this case Pedrosa) to work out where he was faster/slower, when to push, manage a 2-3 second gap etc. In the past his tactics have simply consisted of getting to the front and riding the Duke into the ground (win or bust mentality). Whether this is maturity or more confidence with a better package or something else remains to be seen, but it bodes well for a strong season for Stoner and HRC, and a great season of racing in general. And yep, old mate in the background does look to have been in a good paddock!

And a one time champ he may only be, but how many races or titles have you won lately sunshine, punks like you should show a bit more god damned respect! All these professional guys have balls the size of rockmelons to do what they do, MotoGP, WSBK, Supersport, Isle of Man, Speedway etc. Keyboard tough guys make me laugh.

Stoners words of wisdom...

Is it just me or has Casey not only changed manufacturer but it seems also his attitude and approach to the world press? The guy seems that bit better spoken and level headed now. He could easily bash Rossi but doesn't and seems happy to be number one for the moment but also realises it could change quickly as the others catch up. Its a nice change.

Rossi being the underdog this season is also giving the young guns a chance to race each other until he comes good. To me Stoner is seeing the Ducati + Rossi partnership into the long term results too not just the early races.

I will be thinking of the Phillip Island race as i head out there today in the rainy, cold and miserable conditions here in Melbourne this weekend. Be nice to see the circuit for the first time though. :)
