KTM 125 Duke first ride impressions

MCN Reporter, Dan Aspel, is riding the new KTM 125 Duke around Stratford Upon Avon. Here are his first impressions: “From the off you can tell the 125 Duke’s a KTM, it’s got the Austrian firm’s characteristic premier feel and doesn’t seem like a regular 125 – more like an extremely capable motorcycle that happens to be small capacity. “It’s a completely...

Those questioning who will pay...

Consider that the Yam YZF R125 is upwards of 4 grand and is one of, if not THE top selling bike in the country. Remember that if you have a CBT and don't want to fork out for a full license this is your choice, not everyone wants/ can have a 600. This is what the industry needs if we want new riders- interesting, accessible bikes.

Sure, it would be better if it were cheaper but this isn't Honda, KTM are a small manufacturer and don't have the economies of scale for £1500 bikes (yet... Bajaj may do something about that sooner rather than later. This bike is also doing the rounds in the Indian press too).

I like it, its a decent looking 125 and as sports bike sales are droping it may be cooler than YZFR125. What I don't like about YZFR125 is that its a sheep in wolfs clothing. It looks faster than it is, its pretending to be a R6.The KTM doesn't look like its trying to be a bigger bike. Pretending to be something your not is never cool. And thats all that matters when your 17, looking cool.
