Jerez MotoGP: Lorenzo wins wet crash fest

Reigning world champion Jorge Lorenzo has won the Jerez MotoGP in wet conditions by 19 seconds ahead of compatriot Dani Pedrosa in a race which only had 12 finishers. Casey Stoner got the holeshot and pulled away on the first lap, with Jorge Lorenzo in second, but neither rider was able to stop Italian Marco Simoncelli taking the lead and opening up...

AS IT'S

quietened down a bit on here i'll comment on today. i did state pre-season that what rossi has over the others is what he showed today he will push you out the way when neeeded and whilst not an outright dirty rider he is more than most prepared to mix it up, i reckon this is a good thing and the other riders probably dont.

Great race

Rain, crashes and apologies. Brilliant. Saw Rossi's apology to Stoner on BBC and couldn't help think Stoner was being a sarcastic arse. Maybe I'm doing him down but does anyone else think the same?

Fancy saying to Rossi you had more ambition than ability?

banter

There is nothing more to say here, it has all been said. There are some quality posts together with some things that should not have been said, it has almost  been better than the race, but not quite!

Rossi/Stoner

Good on you Casey, thought you handled the (so called) apology well today. It was all for the cameras. I think Rossi is starting to worry that hes becoming just one of the rest and saw this as an opportunity to boost  his popularity considering his transition to Ducati so far has been less than impressive. I think the marshals deserve a good bollocking for blatantly ignoring Stoner in their quest to get Rossi back on track.

A turn of phrase

For all the uneducated elite here to say to someone that they got their "ambition mixed up with their ability' is a phrase that is used in a friendly sparring way to say "oops you fucked that one up hey mate" You can use it anywhere, very transportable, even use it in social situations if you choose. Learn some of the local lingo and you might just understand what Stoner is about a little more.

Of course some here have been able to explain how it is Stoners fault, if it was why did Rossi go apologies for taking him out. For all those who say Rossi is only human and made a mistake then hold up the 9 world championships in the next sentence - this is why he should have know better, because he is supposed to have the experience and race craft to be able not to do that shit.

Stoner lifted his bike and Rossi was on his feet before the marshals got there.

Did anyone pick up the real dig though, it was subtle, but to us who understand the way Stoner thinks and acts, we picked it up - did you? If you didn't its okay because it would go by you anyway.

Other than that it was a silly race really, interesting only because everyone fell off which ended up being a bit of a yawn
