Jerez MotoGP: Lorenzo wins wet crash fest

Reigning world champion Jorge Lorenzo has won the Jerez MotoGP in wet conditions by 19 seconds ahead of compatriot Dani Pedrosa in a race which only had 12 finishers. Casey Stoner got the holeshot and pulled away on the first lap, with Jorge Lorenzo in second, but neither rider was able to stop Italian Marco Simoncelli taking the lead and opening up...

Rossi's shit doesn't smell!

Not according to 'some' of the pricks ramblings on this thread. Thats racing eh? One of those things eh?

It was a stupid move so early in the race, totally ruining what was shaping up to be a classic

And what an ungracious little prick Stoner is for not bowing in the almighty's presence! and to have the audacity to even be sarcastic! Incredible......even tho the 'apology' was a (again) well organised piece of PR in front of the cameras, putting Stoner in the uncomfortable situation of having to hold  back what he must have really felt.

Scooters

Ducati announced recently that they will not be building scooters.
Maybe they should have a rethink so that whenever Rossi has another excursion into the kittylitter he doesn't have to get a lift back to the pitlane on a Yamaha.

STONER WAS PISSED

but hey that,s racing . If you have ever been there at club or national level it was a racing incident. End of story . lucky it was nt Max Stoner said that to he may well of got a slap (LOL) . Stoner was going backwards and Vale was moving forward , whats he supposed to do wait eleventeen laps for a safe chance., as if there was ever going to be one with them two.Long wait till the next but i,ll sit up for it. Bring it on.

The rain in Spain brought much pain.

The usual array of myopic and ignorant perspectives. It's clear to me that many posters haven't even attended a race meeting let alone race. With comments like 'Stoner should have seen Rossi coming and not tried to turn into the corner' WTF? Stoner heard him coming and gave him plenty of room.  Interestingly Julian Ryder mentioned that Rossi said he wasn't trying to overtake Stoner. In which case that really was a monumental failure of judgement. The cynical could read more into that (Capirossi on Harada anyone?). As for Stoners ambition over ability comment, that was entirely justified given Rossi's slating of both Stoner and Lorenzo in the press recently. Fair enought to leave it as that label it a racing incedent and move on.

Stoner going backwards V2Kiwi? The safest way to win a race is in the slowest possible time. Stoner was sitting comfortable with the leading pack. Perhaps trying to looka fter his rubber. Rossi was a blaze of red mist and bruised ego.

As for Rossi being on it. Yeah he was riding well in the rain (the crash notwithstanding), but riding to 8/10th of the bikes abilities in the wet is a long way from pushing 10/10th in the dry.

Jamie -  'Spies, no race craft' ? The man was safely past Pedrosa and slowing down with his tyres shot (as they all were); he was trying to baby it home. Trust me slicks with standing water is no fun whatsoever. Ridiculous comment.

Lorenzo. The stature of the man continues to grow. I really am starting to believe that he couldn't crash if he tried.

bell end

"Obviously your ambition outweighs your talent" is there a bigger bell end in racing than Stoner?

Spies no race craft.

Spies had to deal with the difficult moments such as hunting down Hayden he did that with ease then Pedrosa his riding style was on par with his team-mate laying down smooth consistent laps on a wet track Ben is one of the best riders when it comes to worn tyres but when the track is soaking its more diificult.

Wrong!

Hayden had already got a podium on the Ducati, at Aragon last year. Do keep up, Liam.
