speed camera's

On my commute to work there are loads of speed camera's.I think I might have passed one doing 65 in a 60 zone,it was a A road.I drive a 125 and have cbt licence,so I'm just wondering if any knows what kind of points system etc is used for cbt drivers for speeding ? and also how fast would I have to be going to be charged for speeding ?

In all fairness

The things don't trigger on the dot of the speed limit.  If they did, though, you'd have got 3 points.  If you're a new licence holder they take it off you at 6 points.  Not sure about CBT though.

overtaking

I normally do I was overtaking a car,when I saw the white lines on the ground,I slowed down,but not sure if I got caught,it's annoying that there's so many on that A road.

Speed Camera

If you slowed down to 60 as soon as you passed the first white line you'll be OK as your average speed between the two photos will be 63 which I guess they won't bother with unless the guy checking the photos has had a bad day. Reportedly, most speed cameras don't have any film in them at a given time.

Plus, if your speedo is anything like the one on my CBF125 it's up to 10% overreporting your speed.

Camera's

My understanding of the camera's told to me by a copper was;

The white lines on the road represent 5 miles an hour.
It takes a picture as you pass it then a specified time later. So there for every white line you pass represents 5 miles an hour.

Also they have a 10% leeway and maybe another bit on top (I know its 10% but not 100% sure on the bit on top).
