Casey Stoner supports Dani Pedrosa in weight debate

Casey Stoner has thrown his support behind Dani Pedrosa in the combined bike and rider weight debate currently raging in MotoGP. Pedrosa has strongly opposed plans to introduce a combined bike and rider minimum weight limit in MotoGP, with some of his premier class rivals believing the Spaniard has a significant advantage because of his diminutive size. Pedrosa is over 20kg lighter...

I am a great Simmocelli fan, but imo Pedrosa does not have an advantage with his weight! Just stop the petrol limmit. Give evereyone 25 litres of petrol, and i am sure al the riders will agree to that?

Desperate or what?

Still wondering why these pair of pansy's have raised the issue with the 'Riders Safety Commission'?

As for Hayden, give him 500 horsepower and a bike made of feathers and he'd still feel compelled to bring it in behind his Italian team mate! Your such a team player Nicky, you fuggin' sap! Time you got rid of that dirty water.

stupid argument! if its that much of an advantage why hasn't dani dominated the class?  adding weight would leave the bigger riders with a massive advantage as their extra weight is attached to their body so they can move it around. just give them more petrol!!!

I think.

The FIM made a mistake when they put the fuel from 23 litres down to 21 when the rules changed to 800cc.

Rules, Rules and more Rules!

MotoGP already has too many rules, it makes you wonder if all the FIM guys are lawyers! A great rider is a great rider... period. Waaaay back Bill Ivy had to hide weights in his leathers when they used to weigh in riders like jockeys. We already have rules for tank capacity, what tire to use, the bore of the engine, in the Moto2 even the type of engine! The whole sport is getting more like a spec. class. Let's not heap any more rules onto the mess we already have.

Size boohoo

Well, we are all build differently, nothing is ever perfect, nobody has just advantages or disadvantages. It always is a tradeoff. What will be next? They all have to have the same boot size, because one might have an advantage over the other when shifting.....?

Let's stop the sillyness and get back to racing. It is what it is.

Don't blame the FIM.

On all of it Honda was the manufacturer that pushed for the 800s in favour of their golden boy Mr Pedrosa the racing is not what it supposed to be part from some classic Rossi v Lorenzo battles.

relax the fuel ,

Hiya when a factory spend a fortune on there bikes getting them down to the weight limit , then they have to put it back on sorry sounds daft to me , lighter riders do gain down the straight but its not so easy round the corners ,just let them all have more fuel , and take away some of the eletronics , like moto 2 , i prefer to watch that these days at least theres plenty of action and bikes on the track , :)

What sheep doesn't eat, the goat will swallow

Shame on you Dani Pedrosa for being so light and small and you to Casey Stoner, for supporting him!!! Rossi is the best. Rossi is sheep, i mean goat!

Dani should be penalised for his incredible succes in MotoGP with all those titles and wins from 2007 up to now...

And Casey shold be penalised too, and that title in 2007 should be stripped away because Stoner have a better tyres, electronics, weight less...and specialy because he's a moaner.

don't add a min weight

Just give them some more fuel! !, its a race not a economy run. The bigger guys are having to run leaner fuelling to get to.the end of a race and its taking a lot of expensive electronics to control it. give them enough fuel to not run lean then let all the pro's and cons of different riders add to the racing,
