Very sad news ....

We lost another last night.:upset:

RIP Tommy, who died last night on the Stockiemuir at the Queen's View bends. :upset:

Such a lovely guy. Some of the Scottish crew on here will remember him from when he joined us on the Sunday run to Crieff at the start of last month.

Thoughts and condolences go to his family and especially his wife.

RIP Tommy

Terrible news

... Seems to be getting closer to home, too.  How many of us know bikers personally who've either bought it, or got badly injured?  I mean - we're not talking about very large circles here.   Makes me wonder if it's worth it sometimes, particularly if there is a family to be taken care of.   Compare this with the much wider group that drives cars and the risk to us bikers looks out of all proportions.

I feel the same way, im starting to wonder if its really worth it and my son is a biker as well, he is 17 and rides an aprilla rs 125, i was on his back wheel a couple of weeks ago and he was flat out at 110, very quick for a small bike,,im starting to have a serious rethink about all this :upset:

Like yourself, I hadn't been out riding with him often .... but he was one of those folk who you take an instant like to.

As well as the family, my thoughts are with the guys riding with him last night, Scot, John, Andy, Alan etc. I know they tried their best to save him..giving him CPR till the helicopter arrived. :upset:

I hear what you are saying ...  tragedies like this always make you think about the risks of what we do ..... but I hope it doesn't put you off ...you must do what you love to enjoy life and make the most of the time we have been given ......You could live a dull life with no risks - but still die of cancer.

You can't make sense of what happens in life  .... my understanding of this accident is that it wasn't a huge 'off'  ...and was one you would normally have expected to walk away from ..but Tommy was unlucky and must have landed awkwardly.

It just reminds us that none of us know how much time we have and how precious this life is.

My sympathy

to the family.  Don't know who is at all, but just really sad that his unborn child will not ever meet him.

Really sad news....

Hopefully his Family will have a little comfort from the fact that he was not alone and everything was done to save him in his final hour...I know what everyone is saying about the frequency of biker accidents, and that's just in our small circle of people.....Best not to dwell too much on the downside of being on the bike I suppose.Condolences to his Family, I hope they have someone close to sort the bike details out for them.:upset:
