Honda's shock new 700cc auto scooped

These world exclusive spy shots show a radical new Honda with an all-new 700cc parallel-twin engine and the advanced dual clutch transmission of the VFR1200F. The bike was snapped in the Alps last week as it underwent final testing with the Honda Research and Development team. It is expected to be officially shown in November at the Milan show and will...

At least Honda are trying. I know the Crosstrainer/dresser or whatever isn't to everyone's taste, but they did bring out about 8 new(ish) bikes this year - more than Suzuki, Yamaha and Kawasaki combined.

Honda are hell bent on producing 2 wheeled cars. In the last ten or so years Honda have really lost the plot. They should give up bikes and throw all their resources into their bland motor cars.

Auto? What?!

Dull. Dull, dull, dull dull. And amongst other things, I own an R1150r (which actually isn't that dull really). :) Surely the whole idea of a bike is that it is visceral, exciting and involving. So just why would we really want an automatic, 700cc, plastic pig? Honda have been trying to get us to have automatic bikes for so long I've lost track! This one will probably also be allied to Honda's legendary ability to make a small capacity engine do 20mpg... Call it a thirsty scooter and be done with it.

More junk

This is not the right way to go honda, this bike is crap the cost of fuel is extremly high in the UK the bikes they are bringing out are thirstier and thirstier, if you want to bring out something radical bring out a high performance diesel bike that give over a hundred to the gallon and still pulls you up to over a hundred miles an hour this bike is the same old crap over and over again.

Like one of the other posters noted, perhaps their designers are actually workinig for one of the competition.

Not quite sure how some people are claiming to know that this bike is "more junk", "same old crap", "dull, dull, dull" - all from a vague spy shot and some (dubious) technical info (is it a twin or single who really knows?). Might all be true but it's all purely speculation until its released and tested.

Even now, Honda manages to surprise me. I remember when I was selling head gaskets for an auto company, Honda had some very innovative models. I guess some things never change.
