1st cruiser?

Hi all.

I passed my full test recently :) im 20 years old so i am effected by the 33bhp restriction. I am look all over the web because i am obsessed with bikes.

My question is what would be the best cruiser for a first bike. A sportster 883, vn 900, vn 800 and yamaha xvs 650?

Also im no small man im 6ft 3 and weigh 226 ibs.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

avoid the sportster, aint really a cruiser as it is too high and the 883 is gutless. Either of the other two would be good, as is the Triumph though a bit pricey compared to the jap stuff. Are you going to restrict it or take the chance of getting a pull? The 650 drag queen wont be too far off the 33bhp by the time it hits the back wheel, probably just a slide stop in the carbs would get it under if you are going legal

Scalli response.

Hay scalli.

Im not going to take the risk and leave the bike unrestricted. I worked to hard for my licence hahaha. Thanks for the advice, to be honest i was leaning more towards the vn 900.

If the vn 900 was restricted to 33bhp would the bike be able to function normally? Just wondering if you cut the power would it make the bike harder to ride?
