33bhp test rider wanted!

Have you got a 33bhp-restricted licence? Fancy testing some bikes with MCN? We’re looking for a young rider to take part in next week’s “33bhp shoot-out”. You’ll ride the bikes, tell us your thoughts and feature in biking’s biggest weekly publication. So, if you’re young(ish), currently on a 33bhp restricted licence, free on Wednesday 15th June and can get to our offices...

Buggar

Not only would you consider me too ancient but I'm 180 miles away.  Would have loved to do that it's what should have been done ages ago.  It so difficult to choose a 33bhp restricted bike cause there ain't no way of having a test ride.

Would be nice to find some results for 33bhp, Most Dealers will fit a free 33bhp restriction kit to new bikes up to 900cc, But will not let riders on Restricted licence take new bikes for test rides. Its ok but if you buy a brand new bike then see that is not right for you you have last a couple of grand on resale. I thought that on some bikes it was just a matter of a change of the ECU.

By "33bhp shootout", you mean Ninja 250 vs CBR250R, right?  Why bother, when the verdict is just going to be "They're both good"?

Not for much longer

Got one more month to go on my 33 restriction... Hoorah! Took my test on my own 125, didn't want to fork out for lessons I didn't need or the insurance on a hired 500. Moral of that story is it's not just the 'young(ish)' on restricted licenses. I'm probably not the only 40 something back to biking rider who never bothered taking a test in his earlier years... I'm still interested in the results of your test, tho frankly I'm a whole let more interested in setting my Bandit free next month - viva 84 BHP!!
