the coverage on itv 4 this year has been superb it makes moto gp look about as exiting as paint drying.and 14 bikes on the grid is an insult to paying spectators.there s hould be 25 on the line at least.jamie whitham and steve parrish have been superb to.

It was a year in which the organizers made decisions that seem likely to shape future TTs, alright.

When I raced on the IoM in 2002, and wrote about it in my book Riding Man (http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004R9QPWC) almost every session was run in pouring rain. At the time, I didn't believe that it necessarily made things more dangerous. But the increasing tendency of riders like Guy to 'scratch' around the course probably increases the odds of coming onto a damp patch at full lean, with nothing in hand.

So, will we see a new rule-of-thumb? Races run in the dry only; or dry and full wet, but not in tricky 'intermediate' conditions? Part of me feels that at the TT, or on real roads generally, you should have to deal with real conditions.

There was another historic trend set at this TT, too, but it wasn't those dull electric bikes...
