British Grand Prix: Casey Stoner shivers to commanding win

Casey Stoner conquered driving rain and ice cold summer temperatures to romp to a commanding British Grand Prix victory at Silverstone yesterday. The Australian became the first Honda rider to win three successive premier class races since Valentino Rossi in 2003 with a dominant victory that saw him seize the lead in the 2011 MotoGP world championship. Nothing to prove

Casey may have nothing to prove to fans of moto gp, who are generally the people who write comments on these pages. But at the end of the day they are the people that cheer their hero's on. He is brilliant, a fact i have already stated. But wild comments from others about dissin riders not cutting the mustard and comparisons seem to be standard for this forum.

I stated some facts to prompt a reaction and it seems to have worked

Any moto gp rider is talented and some take it to another level. They should inspire the fans, make you watch in awe and question how the hell did they do that and maybe its a forlorn hope that the bikes will go back to an era without gismos and gadgets. Some say it improves safety, some say it evens up the sport. Me, i think its bollocks. The more you add the more you dilute it
