at last i'm back on the road again after a 13 yr hiatus , just bought the sv  , it started when i went to see it , but i  never rode it i pushed it home [no insurance] & bald front tyre , when i got insurance i was going to get new a tyre but it wouldn't start , dash shows fi or fl , i charged the battery but it still won't start  anybody got any ideas :upset::unsure:

i notice

you say you haven't ridden for 13 yrs. I take it you are doing the obvious?

Clutch in, not in gear and kill switch to run?

Modern bikes have kill switches everywhere to stop you binning it. Especially when pulling away.

If you are doing these then a check of the clutch switch and side stand switches are in order on your post 2003 FI 650.
