Assen MotoGP: Ben Spies relieved after Silverstone crash

Unprotected wall?

All that money they have spent on silverstone and they overlook a bit of padding!? Crazy.. Spies was lucky to get away with that and by the sounds of it, so are the organisers of Silverstone!

Very relieved too.

He didn't hurt himself very badly in that crash two weeks ago the organisers will want to check the circuit next time for any unprotected sections of the circuit.

The Wall

It sounds like it's the same bit of track where Lascorz and Tamburini had their massive crash in World Supersport last year.

The Wall *continued*

The trouble is that because the wall is about 5ft high (incase an F1 car spins out the marshals are above the incident) Silverstone had to put holes into the wall for the marshals feet so they can climb back up to their post on top of the wall. If you put an airfance infront of it, then those holes will be blocked.

They do need to do something though, becuase that is 2 very big crashes in 2 years, they just can't run the risk of leaving the wall bare.
