Valentino Rossi expects Jerry Burgess back in America

Valentino Rossi expects trusted crew chief Jerry Burgess to be back pulling the strings in his factory Ducati garage at this weekend’s American Grand Prix at Laguna Seca. Burgess has been absent from Rossi’s side in Mugello and the Sachsenring having returned to Adelaide after his wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. Rossi had his worst result on the Ducati Desmosedici in...

Jerry Burgess...

Good to hear that JB's back & hopefully all is well at home.

Ocdcbr - Haters. Almost everyone respects Rossi & his achievements... how could you not with 9 world championships?... but there were those that genuinely hated Stoner... remember the boos he used to receive... they were mostly Rossi fans & as such many have either fallen silent or have found a new respect for him considering Rossi's current predicament & their exchange of roles. That's not to say that they won't childishly cheer & jeer when either falter but I'm hoping the hatred has disappeared.

Yes good to see JB back hope alls well with his family.. Vale hand your notice in today and sign with honda you have the backing.. You can't fix the duke if it doesn't want to be fixed. Ducati on the verge of a commercial disaster.. Was great to see Dani back and on form, hope he maintains his return to fitness, going to be very interesting watching the fight for top dog in the Repsol camp.. till Rossi returns that is..

Excuses

Now is Rossi jumping on the bandwagon because it isn't working for him, and because one man has been away for a couple of rounds! Maybe he is loosing the hunger, after all what has he got left to prove and motivation must sometimes be a problem if things ain't right...we wait and see.

Got to prove?

You're right - he has nothing to prove

His move to Ducati has proved what everyone with a shred of common sense knows already.

It is more about the bike than the rider. Rossi hasn't been able to do anything to the Ducati with his 'superior' set up skills - He has made no difference in 8 months, never miind 80 seconds.

It is engineers and designers who design bikes, not riders and their mechanics. Ducati are more lost now than they have ever been.

i dont understand where the discussion lies?

everyone knew at the start of the year that rossi wasn't going to be competitive this year. maybe we didn't expect ninth but everyone knew he wouldn't be winning. rossi even admitted it when he joined and nothing has changed. rossi and jb said the goal is next year so i vote we stop slagging off a nine times world champion and focus on what the season is. the more interesting point is how well stoner is riding on a great bike, and how hard lorenzo is riding to retain his title. so what if rossi is taking the season to get the ducati right? a three way fight for the lead is more exciting, with or without rossi?

traditional chassis

Lol, just seen mcn and looks like I was right about ducati chassis, and that Rossi wants an alloy frame now.
