Loris Capirossi determined to ride in Laguna Seca

Loris Capirossi will travel to California to try and compete in this weekend’s American Grand Prix at Laguna Seca. The Italian veteran withdrew from last weekend’s German round at the Sachsenring after just one practice session, the pain from a damaged right shoulder suffered in a heavy qualifying crash at Assen last month too severe to continue. He also broke two ribs...

Why bother Loris? save yourself the hassle and retire now. You are not going to score any more points or win any more races so just pack it in and give a younger rider a chance.

You've had a long and distinguished career but you should go now.

Time to leave.

Loris you're gonna end up hurting yourself even more if you decide to compete on your bogey circuit.

Give it up Loris. You're an old man now and more dangerous than you were. (Still not forgiven you for 'accidently' taking out Harada all those years ago!)

Perhaps

Cappi gets paid when he sits on the bike, and he also might have a contract with his sponsors to be showing their brand with him astride the bike. Methinks he wants to finish up the year and then call it quits. But he wants to make this last payday.

Loris - true colours

Loris was a great rider, do you remember that crash he had off a 250 (Honda I think) when he went down the road on the top of his head, still holding on to the bike !! but he showed his true colours, Yes it was terrible what he did to Harada Where was race direction in those days to dish out a penalty, because he should have had one. In comparison to what that 125 rider Zarco did the other week was nothing, just a bit of an elbow. So many people have forgot what Loris did, cold heartedly knocked his team mate Harada clean off.

I wonder how much he's worth?

At 321 races he hasn't exactly been on minimum wage since his first pro GP. He can afford to put his feet up.

I remember Harada

Yes it was terrible what Loris did to Tetsuya and to take the championship as well but that was a long time ago but surely we can forgive him now for all the fantastic racing he has given us since.
I remember standing next to Harada at Le Mans one year and it was like standing next to a 12 year old...so small and young looking for a guy of his age.
