All-new Triumph Daytona 675 spied

This grainy picture is the first ever shot of the new Triumph Daytona 675. It was one of four pictures – including a much clearer side-on shot you can see in tomorrow’s MCN – taken by an MCN reader near Triumph’s Hinckley factory. Triumphs have done well in comparison tests in magazines here in the U.S. as well.I think one of the things they have going for them is that an "oversized" triple is a fantastic real world altenative to a standard sized four. All things being equal a triple is not going to make as much power as a four but they are much lighter and compact. By increaseing displacement over a standard sized four (say 675 v. 600 or 1125 v.1000) you  can have an engine that makes as much power as a four but is lighter more compact and has a more user friendly  power curve.

Kwakanuts, the Daytona 675 might not win championships right now, but in 2008 Glenn Richards won the BSB Supersport Championship on it. Check this out. Who cares if it is not WSB or MotoGP, this was a classic last lap!
