Video: MCN rides a Honda NR750

Only 300 road-going Honda NR750s were built and at £38,000 it was the most expensive production bike of its day and can now change hands for six-figure sums. The 125bhp, 748cc V4 engine has oval pistons, 32-valves and eight con rods (two per piston). It's the V4 that thinks it's a V8 and featured technology that was way ahead of its...

I've never heard of one of these bikes before but it sounds amazing! Love that dash too.

Sublime. I'd really like to see one of those lightened & worked on to dod what it was intended to do. 125bhp was very conservative, with the extra breathing capacity from those valves it should have been capable of more than an RC45 which can top 160bhp !  Pity they made so few & that tyhey all ended up in museums :(  Nice to see one actually used as it was intended !  I want one :(

Awesome bike sadly only destined to be owned by rich collectors who will never be able to use them as they were designed to be used. Having said that with a price tag of about £38000 when they were new I don't suppose we were ever gonna see many on the road anyway. You lucky old journo Neavesy.:>) Didn't Nial MacKenzie have one.?

Tut tut... for the pedants, it's a Honda NR, not an NR750.  Like the original 800cc VFR was simply called the VFR, with Honda opting to drop the capacity from it's official moniker...

MCN rides a Honda NR750 in a straight line. Therefore, MCN does not really ride anything here.
