US MotoGP: Stoner steals victory from Lorenzo

Casey Stoner (Repsol Honda) stole an impressive fifth win of the season from Jorge Lorenzo (Yamaha Factory Racing) at Laguna Seca. Lorenzo made a strong start and led for the majority of the race, whilst Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa clung on to second until eventually conceding to team mate Stoner, being passed through the corkscrew on lap fourteen. Not quite as good a race as last weekend but still there were some great performances especially by Stoner but also by Lorenzo and Pedrosa. Whoever wins the championship this year will deserve it on merit and not just because of bad luck, injury or the bike wasn't good enough as these seem to have evened out pretty much between Jorge and Casey. Going on Dani's form lately, I wonder how he would have done if he never had the accident.

Yet again only 13 finish,2 of them a lap down, soon you will be able to have 2  or 3 crashers in Moto GP go back to the pits have the bike re-built join the race again and still get some points! There are only ever 5 or 6 in with a shout of a win (well more like 3 to be honest) Moto GP desparetly needs more bikes and riders, but of equal quality to make it interesting,no good just one or two winning all the time. For excitement I much prefer BSB,BSS,WSB,WSS,and Moto 2 classes.

I'm not getting up at some deathly hour to watch this bleedin' race again. Get rid of it!
