Water-cooled BMW GS is new from the ground up

This exclusive spy shot proves the next generation BMW R1200GS will be new from the ground-up, with an all-new water-cooled engine, revamped styling and major chassis changes. The photographs - taken last week outside BMW's Munich Development Centre - show a pre-production GS with a water-cooled engine plus radial brakes, modernised styling, adjustable screen, new clocks and the exhaust and shaft...

Radial Calipers

No need for them. they are just a fashion thing copied from race bikes.

USD forks?? Pointless too, especially considering the BMW front end suspension is by a single shock absorber...

Lets hope they've sorted out the Fuel Pump Controller and Final Drive problems.

no rad cals,no usd forks...WHAT!!?

eats01.......Everyone to there own. YES,rad cals, first appeared on race bikes, but soon appeared on mx also. Stronger mounts, look better and actually CAN alter design,if you have an eye for design.Besides wavy discs first hit the off road scene to be followed by the road bikes so... The usd forks,as they are becoming better, would have saved a considerable amount of weight from the bike. :wacko:BMW used USD forks on the HP ENDURO AND MEGA MOTO,so they must be good. They could in fact bring out a special ONE OFF ltd ed using OHLINS-WP USD forks for the new GS 1200-1250-1300,whatever? Interesting to see which of the two designs would win people over, the standard Telelever for the roadies, tourers, and the USD for the more racer, off road, type.

GS is a cow

Ever see these bikes on offroad?  About as agile as cows, and they look similar too.  Also, about time they put real forks on the thing...although it wouldn't help much.

KTM Adventure IMO is the best way to go.  Serious and the only truly ENDURO bike out there.
