Valentino Rossi to test deltabox aluminium frame

Valentino Rossi will test a conventional deltabox aluminium chassis on Ducati’s factory GP12 machine in Jerez later this week after the Italian’s woeful 2011 continued at the Motorland Aragon. The new frame is similar to the concept used by Ducati’s Japanese rivals and it is the latest in a long line of radical changes introduced to give Rossi a bike he...

Somebody

posted this interview the other day.

Really is the most enlightening thing I've read on the whole debacle. Props to whoever posted it, sorry I can't remember who.

Most amazing thing: Preziosi asked Furusawa to come to Ducati with Rossi- So clearly he was out of ideas before Rossi had even chucked a leg over the thing.

Also some amazing insights from the creator of the M1 as to why the ducati design can't work

MCN

Funnily enough, I actually bought it today for the first time in ??? as I've no real interest in road bikes - I was in the newsagent's on the way home so thought I'd get it to see what they had to say about the race.

You're right - Nothing.

The headline quotes attributed to Stoner are also ridiculous. Not at any time in the editorial is he quoted as saying them. 'Pouring scorn' and 'taking a fresh swipe' are wholly out of context with what he said. He sure as hell could say a lot more if he wanted to but he doesn't strike as being the type.

Have MCN got something against him? A superb performance by a MotoGP rider winning a race hardly gets a mention but they misquote him as pouring scorn on Ducati. And the bit by Spalding casting his eye over the latest Ducati frame development was jaw droppingly informative. Well worth the £1.99 cost of the paper.

And I may be wrong but I am sure that is a repeated interview on his thoughts on Ducati. Very familiar to something I've read before.

so stoner won 3 of the last 6 races..he had been on the bike for 4 years and results were dwindling..3 wins in 19 races and binning it more often.

if you compare rossis time at assen in comparable conditions he was actually faster than stoner.

trouble is the gp10 was the best the ducati could be with cf and rossis results have gotten worse as he and burgess try every conceivable setting.so in comes deltabox,it works for honda and yamaha so should work for the duke.

dont get me wrong i think stoner is a great rider ,if he thought he could have won the title on the ducati he would be riding it now.

''if you compare rossis time at assen in comparable conditions he was actually faster than stoner.''

Why spend so much time scraping the barrel bud?

How does Rossi's podiums this season stack up to Stoners last season, or for that matter any season Stoner was on the Duke? Dya get it yet? I'm glad that your'e glad that Vale was faster at Assen. Hopefully it's a comfort to you.

typical  stoner fan anything to run rossi down...the duke got worse every year and stoner dumped it at the right time...this season the honda and yamaha have moved up a gear and ducati have been left behind..

rossi was faster at czech republic in comparable conditions....

im not as narrow minded as you as i say stoner is a great rider..

if the deltabox turns the duke into a front runner next year it will have nothing to do with rossis riding skills..

Stoner was very fast on the Desmo and Rossi isn't! That's my point. Stoner could win on the Desmo and Rossi can't even get on the podium unless by default! And all Rossi and Burgess have succeeded in doing,"by trying every conceivable setting" is make it slower! Rossi can't ride the Desmo, no shame in that but it's a fact, for all to see! Hector Barbera on a 2 year old satellite bike was faster on Sunday, so where does that put Rossi? Ciao

acanada I like it in your posts how you defend Rossi then shit on stoner but try to redeem yourself by saying stoner is a good rider. you want to bring up past stats because they make Rossi look good that's really nice of you but I'll bring up the ones that really matter stoner 1st Jorge 2 nd . why is stoner not with ducati well it's easy really they gave him a bike at the beginning of the year and that was it but yet Rossi is on his third model? it's time for the Rossi fan club to recognize that Stoner , Lorenzo , Dovi and Pedrosa who broke his collar bone and missed races have ridden better than Rossi this year and a stat that you stat lovers keep bringing up Stoner finishe never lower than 4 th in the championship Rossi is looking at 7 th

Deltabox is a yamaha trademark

I hear various commentators discussing Ducati's expiramentation with a 'deltabox frame.'  I wasn't aware that Yamaha was that friendly with Ducati.  Perhaps they should develop their own twin spar aluminum frame.  then they can call it whatever they like without paying royalties to Yamaha since Deltabox is their trademarked product.  Like SRAD for suzuki, unicam for Honda, etc.

is that nit picky enough?

YPVS,ATAC,KIPS ,AETC.. are all power valves.

SRAD is a ram air induction system, not a frame.....so it can't be used in your example.

interestingly, how do they measure the power output of the bikes that utilise ram inducation?
