Sign petition to fight EU

An MEP is urging riders to sign a petition against EU measures to make motorcycles impossible to modify. The petition, proposed by UKIP MEP Marta Andreasen, calls on Government, MPs and MEPs ‘to oppose in the strongest terms this proposed legislation’. If more than 100,000 signatures are gained, parliament will have to consider a debate on the issue. Tuning will become impossible and...

thats only the start of it, if this is made law ,then they,ll go after the car drivers, itll be a world of taking the car back to the main dealers for an oil change, so what if you need an exhaust for your car, every dealer will have its own resus to get you over the shock of how much itll cost to keep your car on the road, look at it this way i drive an iveco lorry and you do a daily inspection of oil water lights etc, if it needs oil it has to go to the workshop to be done as theres no filler cap or dipstick, imagine that with your car

What's a "mororbike"?

This is a serious problem - if you search for "motorbike" or "motorcycle", you won't find this petition.  Way to go Marta!

I'm not sure if it will allow you to, but anyone who can sign it should sign it, if anything it will show that motorcyclists the world over think it's a stupid piece of legislation that should never have even been concieved!

and this time have added Motorbike to the petition title... should be up soon.

edbrambley your right... how the hell is anyone meant to find it in the search engine if the words motorbike or motorcycle are not used, no wonder there is only 1000 odd people signed up.

Need 100.000 for petition to go through

Amalgamation

There now appears to be three different petitions roughly pertaining to the same thing.

Can I suggest that the two proposers who are not Marta, try and persuade people to sign just one particular petition, or in fact all of them.

Otherwise if votes are split we'll need at least 300,000 for anything to happen.

Just a thought.

And they'll just moan that the motor industry is dying on its arse when people stop buying stuff they can't afford to get serviced.

piroflip is spot on    Dont waste time voting for the EU 'Stooges' or 'Puppets' of the three main political parties, its a case of a different mask on the same face, we have the illusion of democracy, do you seriously belive that by putting a cross on a voting slip every 4 years is going to achive anything? It was never meant to, dont belive the lie of Cameron and his cronies that they are 'Euro Sceptic'  nothing could be further from the truth, they are all pro EU, 80% of our 'laws' emanate from the EU, the UK will be abolished under the Lisbon Treaty which Brown signed into law in 2008 without giving the electorate a vote on the issue, knowing full well it would have been rejected, some democracy huh?

The EU wants motorcycles banned via a means of making it so expensive and with so many hurdles to overcome that few will bother, idealy they want all private vehicles banned, but bikes are the first and easiest target,  We need a Europe of independant nations with  freedom and sovereignty to run thier own affairs along with their own currency and central banks run for the people not the (w) bankers, and dictats from unelected faceless bureucrats in Brussels, Please  wake up before its too late
